As you read this blog post, I will be on-site at the LIC innovation Farm with the Farming2020 Exhibition Marquee builders, the electrical sub-contractors, our friends from Spark who are adding yet more WiFi capacity to the Farm, the WINTEC team who are setting up the video and live stream systems for the Farming2020 Presentation speakers, and the amazing LIC Farm managers who are hosting this week’s event.
If you plan to visit Farming2020, these are the key things you need to know:
Farming2020 has been developed to coincide with Techweek 2017, New Zealand’s major annual tech-focused initiative. With over 250 events taking place across the country, Farming2020 is delighted to have been identified as one of Techweek 2017’s signature events. It has been curated by Wharf42 to place the AgTech sector at centre stage for this week’s extensive programme of tech events. You can learn more about these at www.techweek.co.nz
Farming2020 is being hosted at the LIC Innovation Farm, 835 Rukuhia Rd, Temple View, Ohaupo 3882, Waikato. The venue is close to Hamilton Airport.
The Dates & Opening Times:
The event is being held from Tuesday 9 May – Thursday 11 May 2017. The gates open to the public at 9.30am. The gates will close at 4.30pm.
Designated parking areas have been assigned on the Farm. Please follow the instructions of the parking attendants when you arrive.
The AgTech Exhibitor Marquee:
The AgTech Exhibitor Marquee is hosting 20 New Zealand AgTech businesses. You can learn more about them here.
The Presentation Schedule:
Farming2020 is hosting 28 presentations, featuring leading AgTech specialists from both New Zealand and offshore, in the on-site Hooper Innovation Centre. Details of the awesome Farming2020 Presentation Schedule can be viewed under ‘The Programme’ tab above this blog post.
Admission to Farming2020 is free. This is due to the generous support of our key sponsors who are listed at the bottom of this post.
This policy maps Wharf42’s ambition to support New Zealand’s emerging AgTech sector. By providing free exhibition space to our startup community and by providing them with the opportunity to video and live stream their presentations to the web, we hope it will support their ability to reach out to the wider Agribusiness community. Establishing New Zealand as a leading global AgTech hub is our end goal.
The ‘Taking New Zealand AgTech to the US’ session
There is one cost exception.
Audience seats on Thursday 11th May for the ‘Taking New Zealand AgTech to the US’ panel discussion are limited to just 75. Tickets to attend the session cost $25, plus GST – and any booking fee. They can be purchased on the Farming2020 ‘Taking New Zealand AgTech to the US’ Eventbrite page. You can find out more about this session and its US-based AgTech thought leaders here. If you have ever thought of establishing a presence or selling into this market, this is one session you will not want to not miss.
By the close of business today, the Farming2020 site will be up and running.
Gates open tomorrow morning at 9.30am.
We look forward to meeting you in Ohaupo. 3 days of AgTech goodness await.
